Update KSP Investigating an Arm Robbery in Island, KY

UPDATE: The robbery occurred around 5:30 pm and the pursuit ended at 6:06 pm. When the suspect (Danny L Hensley) died from a self inflicted gunshot wound.

(Henderson, KY) - The Kentucky State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at McLean County Fuels in Island, Kentucky. A white male subject entered the store and brandished a handgun and left with an undisclosed amount of money. The subject was located operating a van on KY 136 and a pursuit was initiated by the Livermore Police Department and Mclean County Sheriffs Office. The pursuit continued into Ohio County and the Ohio county Sheriffs Department joined the pursuit. Kentucky State Police utilized stinger tire deflation devices on the suspect vehicle. The suspect turned onto Delaney Road where the pursuit ended in a brief standoff with law enforcement. The suspect died as a result of what appears to be a self inflicted gunshot wound. The robbery is still under investigation at this time by the Kentucky State Police.
