Two Arrested in Scott County Pursuit

(Frankfort, Ky) – Trooper Johnson initiated a traffic stop for speeding on I-75 in Scott County. During the interview with the driver the driver decided to flee northbound in his vehicle. The fleeing vehicle struck Tpr. Johnson’s knee. Tpr. Johnson pursued the suspect into Grant County. The eluding vehicle reached speeds up to 120 MPH. The suspect pulled over at the 149-mile marker and was arrested without further incident. The driver (Michael A. Brown from Dayton, OH) and passenger (Dianna C. Stewart from Lexington, KY) were lodged in the Scott County Detention Center. Michael A. Brown was charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st, Flee or Evading Police 1st, Failure to Wear Seat Belt, Failure to Produce Insurance Card, Speeding (Work Zone), Insurance Card, Possession Of Marijuana, Operating On A Suspended or Revoked Operator License. Dianna C. Stewart was charged with Public intoxication, Possession Of Marijuana, Execution Bench Warrant (Fayette District Court). Tpr. Johnson was not injured.
