Three Injured in a Two Car Collision on US 23 in Boyd County

(Ashland, KY) - Kentucky State Police in Ashland is investigating a two-vehicle injury collision that occurred on US 23 near the Burnaugh BP station. Deborah L. Ratliff was attempting to cross US 23 when she pulled into the path of James Williamson, who was traveling Northbound on US 23. Mr. Williamson struck Ms. Ratliff's vehicle in the side. Both Ms. Ratliff and Ms. Hampton had to be extricated from their vehicle by the multiple fire departments on scene. Ms. Ratliff was flown to St Mary's Medical center by Healthnet, where she was admitted for multiple injuries. Mr. Williamson and Ms. Hampton were ground transported to Kings Daughter Medical Center for multiple injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by Trooper Ben Tanner of the Kentucky State Police. Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the collision.
