KSP Post 14 Searching for Joseph A. Barker (Wanted Person)

(Ashland, KY) - These are photos of the suspect believed to be responsible for a series of car break-ins in the tri-state area. Suspect breaks a window to a vehicle and steals purses and backpacks, or other contents of the vehicle. Suspect will then use the victim's credit card immediately at different merchants before the victim can either cancelled the card or even realize their card has been stolen. Several different police agencies ( in Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia) are looking for this suspect in theft related cases.
Suspect had been seen in a 1996 purple 2 door Grand Am but has since been seen in a small blue passenger car. Suspect frequents the Speedway stores quite often. Kentucky State Police have several surveillance videos of suspect using these stolen credit cards.
Subject does have a history of criminal activity and should be considered dangerous.
Anyone who sees Joseph Barker is asked to contact their local police department whereas he is entered into NCIC as a wanted fugitive from three different states .
Suspect is described as: 5/10 170/ brown eyes and brown hair/ 28 years old
Subject has a goatee and usually wears a white hat backwards. He also has several facial piercing.
Kentucky State Police urges other police agencies who are working similar cases to contact their office at 606-928-6421.
