News Release

Two Killed in a Motorcycle Collision on State Highway 773

Date of News Release: 08/18/2008

(Ashland, KY) - Mark Stone was traveling eastbound on State Highway 773 in Carter County, when he lost control of his motorcycle while negotiating an S curve, laying the motorcycle over on its left side going into the westbound lane. Deloris Tussey was traveling westbound on State Highway 773 and struck the motorcycle operated by Mark Stone and passenger Theresa Stone. Mark Stone was pronounced dead at the scene by Carter County Deputy Coroner Ronnie Wallace at 1900 hours. Theresa Stone was airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 2115 by Coroner Renetta Matthis. Deloris Tussey was transported to Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, by family member and was not injured in the collision. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the accident.
