Sexual Abuse Investigation and Arrest in Boyd County

Date of News Release: 08/28/2008

(Ashland, KY) - Kentucky State Police Ashland received a call from Boyd County Department of Social Services on August 14, 2008 in reference to a report of Sexual Abuse involving two foster children who had recently lived in the home of Bobby Owney. Kentucky State Police conducted an investigation on this allegation and arrested Bobby Owney at his residence of 6428 Tarpin Ridge on August 27^th, 2008. Mr. Owney was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center on charges of Rape 1^st victim less than 12 years of age and Sodomy 1st victim less than 12 years of age, other charges pending after Grand Jury Investigation. This case is under investigation by Detective Aaron Martin.
