Injury Collision on KY 470 in Casey County

Date of News Release: 08/18/2008

(Columbia, KY) - Ashley R. Wethington, age 21 of Liberty was operating a 1997 Cavalier west on KY 70 when she attempted to pass a 1999 Cavalier being operated by Javier Perez Mendez, age 32 of Liberty. Mr. Mendez attempted to turn left into a parking lot. Ms. Wethington struck Mr. Mendez's vehicle. Ms. Wething along with 2 passengers in her vehicle, Miranda Ferry, age 23 of Liberty, and Hannah e. Wethington, age 1 of Liberty were all treated at the Casey County Hospital. Mr. Mendez refused treatment. All occupants were wearing their seat belt. Hannah Wethington was in a child restraint.
