Publishers Clearing House Scam
Date of News Release: 08/22/2008
(Columbia, KY) - Forcht Bank in Campbellsville, KY has reported receiving calls from subjects out of state attempting to verify a check received from "Publisher's Clearing House". Even though the checks have Forcht Bank's routing number, the bank has advised these checks are not valid. Persons receiving the checks are told to contact a presentative to process their claim and a number is provided. They are further told to send money in order to complete the process. The FBI has been notified by Forcht Bank and is currently investigating the complaint.
