DUI Injury Accident at Lily Creek Boat Ramp in Russell County

Date of News Release: 08/23/2008

(Columbia, KY) - Kenneth Bartrug, age 25 of Jamestown was attempting to back a boat trailer into the water causing the trailer to jackknife causing the trailer to leave the boat ramp on the right side and striking a pedestrian. The pedestrian was identified as Amber Reese age 17 of Russell Springs. Ms. Reese's right arm was injured in the accident and was taken to the Russell County Hospital by the Russell County EMS. Mr. Bartrug's 1997 Dodge Dakota continued backwards and struck a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix which was parked approximately 25' off the boat ramp. Mr. Bartrug was arrested at the scene by the Russell County Sheriff's Department and was charged with DUI and lodged in the Russell County Jail.
