Update to the Death Investigation in Adair County

(Columbia, KY) - Laurie Andrade, age 58, of Columbia was arrested in connection with the death of Leonard B. Andrade, Jr., age 47, of Columbia.

Laurie Andrade has been charged with Reckless Homicide and lodged in the Adair County Jail.

Date of News Release: 08/27/2008

(Columbia, KY) - Around 1:30 a.m. (CST) on August 27, 2008, the Columbia State Police Post received a call from Adair County Jail about a shooting which occurred 12 miles South of Columbia on Sand Lick Road. When officers arrived at the scene, they contacted Adair County Coroner Rick Wilson, who pronounced the victim, a white male, deceased.

One person has been taken into custody and is being questioned by Detective Slinker and the Adair County Sheriff's Department. The name of the deceased will not be released pending notification of next of kin.

Detective Slinker is the lead investigator in this case.
