Injury Collision & Arrest in Adair County

Date of News Release: 09/28/2008

(Columbia, KY) - Jamie Lynn Blankenship, age 23 of Greensburg was operating a 1985 Toyota Corolla on Cedar Grove Road when she lost control and struck a tree. Ms. Blankenship was not wearing her seat belt, treated & released from Westlake Regional Hospital. Ms. Blankenship's 2 children were also in the vehicle. 8 month old, Dannie Whaley was in a child restraint seat, not injured. 4 yr old, Richard Blankenship was also in a child restraint, however it was improperly installed. He was transported to Kosair’s Childrens Hospital in Louisville for non- life threatening injuries.

Ms. Blankenship was arrested and charged with DUI 1st-Aggravating Circumstance, Failure to Use Child Restraint, Failure to Wear Seat Belt, No Insurance, No Operator's License, Expired Registration Plate, and Expired Registration Receipt. She was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
