News Release

New Troopers Assigned to Post 16 Henderson

Date of News Release: 03/03/2008

(Henderson) On February 16, 2008 Detective Sean McKinney was promoted to the rank of sergeant. The Promotional Ceremony was February 28, 2008, in Frankfort, KY. Sergeant McKinney began his career with the Kentucky State Police in January 2001. Upon graduation from the state police academy, he was assigned to the Henderson Post. He made detective in February 2006 and was assigned to street level narcotics. Sergeant McKinney is currently assigned to supervise the Ohio/ McLean County Squad.

On February 25, 2008 The Kentucky State Police Academy graduated 62 state trooper cadets. Three new troopers were assigned to Post 16 Henderson. The new troopers report to post on Monday, March 03, 2008.

Trooper Kenny Sandusky is assigned to the Henderson/ Union County Squad. Sandusky is from Richmond Kentucky. He is the son of Bill and Margie Sandusky who reside in Madison County, Kentucky. He was married to Melissa in 2005. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in May 2007. Sandusky is currently in the United States Army National Guard. He spent 2 years serving in Iraq and Kuwait.

Trooper Mike Heady is assigned to the Henderson/ Union County Squad. Heady is from Union County. He is the son of Houston and Debbie Heady. He is married to Lynn and has a 7 month old child. He attended Henderson Community College and Liberty University.

Trooper Greg Newman is assigned to the Daviess/ Hancock County Squad. Newman is from Bremen Kentucky. He is the son of Thomas Newman and Belinda Orange. He is married to Ali Newman and has two children. He graduated from Campbellsville University in 1999.
