Arson Investigation in Ohio County

Date of News Release: 07/10/2008

(Henderson , KY) - Kentucky State Police Post 16 in Henderson is currently investigating an arson in Ohio County. The blaze was reported to the Ohio County 911 around 0100 hours on 07-10-2008 at the residence of Robert Hayes and his business: Ohio County Choppers ~ 2819 US 0062 E, ~ Beaver Dam, KY. Beaver Dam, Hartford, Rosine Fire Departments and the Ohio County Sheriff's Office responded to said fire. The blaze was extinguished around 0300 hours. The fire completely destroyed the residence, workshop and multiple vehicles.

These structures were recently rebuilt due to a previous fire on 06-01-2007, which KSP and the ATF ruled arson.

This fire has been determined arson by KSP Arson Investigator Mark Boaz. The ATF is assisting Boaz in the investigation of this case.

One firefighter was injured due to exhaustion.

Trooper Corey King, Post 16's acting Public Affairs Officer is requesting anyone with information regarding this arson or any unsolved arson cases to call KSP's Target Arson Hotline-1-800-27-ARSON. Calls are anonymous and those who release information that yields a conviction to an unsolved arson will be compensated up to $1,000.00.
