Injury Collision on Peabody Coal Company Beltline Maintenance Road in Union County

Date of News Release: 08/23/2008

(Henderson, KY) - William J. Johnson was operating a 1987 Chevrolet pickup truck on the Peabody Coal Company Beltline Maintenance Road located between Housebridge Road and KY 141 South. Mr. Johnson lost control of the vehicle and struck six steel poles and traveled into a large earth embankment. The vehicle overturned and came to final rest on its top. The driver William Johnson was trapped in the vehicle and the passenger Logan Jackson was ejected from the vehicle. Mr. Johnson was extricated from the vehicle by Morganfield Fire and Rescue with the assistance of Whispering Meadows Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Jackson was transported by ambulance to Union County Methodist Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released. Mr. Johnson was transported by ambulance to Henderson Methodist Hospital where he is being treated for minor injuries.
