Theft of Identity Arrest in Mayfield
Date of News Release: 07/09/2008
(Hickory, KY) - A Mayfield woman is in jail after she was caught stealing the identity of a Puerto Rico resident. On May 26th, Kentucky State Police received a complaint from the victim stating that she attempted to purchase a car in Puerto Rico and learned that someone had applied for a loan using her name, date of birth, and social security number. An investigation led to the discovery that Eulalia Perez had attempted to obtain a loan in Marshall County earlier in the year. Perez used the personal information of the Puerto Rican resident, however used an address in Mayfield as a point of contact for the lender. On July 9th, Trooper Donald Bowman located Eulalia Perez in Mayfield. Perez, 26, was charged her with Theft of Identity, a class D Felony. Perez was taken to the Marshall County Jail. A bond has not been set at this time.
