Injury Collision on Wayne Freeman Road in Graves County
Date of News Release: 07/13/2008
(Mayfield, KY) - James Cooper was driving a 1994 Nissan pickup southbound on Wayne Freeman Road. Mr. Cooper stated both he and his passenger were distracted by a turtle in the vehicle and failed to see the vehicle leaving the roadway. The truck crossed the northbound lane of traffic and left the roadway striking an embankment and went airborne. While airborne the vehicle impacted a tree with the passenger side and stopped. The operator sustained numerous injuries and was transported to Jackson Purchase ER. The passenger sustained a severe leg injury and was airlifted from the scene by PHI to Cape Girardeau.
