Injury Collision on KY 564 in Graves County

Date of News Release: 07/29/2008

(Hickory, KY) - Michael Webb was operating a 1998 Dodge pickup eastbound on KY 564. In a 90 turn on KY 564 Mr. Webb attempted to cross the westbound lane of KY 564 to go straight onto Parker Road. Mr. Webb failed to see a 2008 Chevy Impala being operated by James Shaffer that was traveling westbound on KY 564. Mr. Webb then entered Mr. Shaffer's lane of travel causing a head-on collision. Mr. Shaffer, Mr. Webb and his passenger Jesse Blalock were transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center by the Mayfield-Graves County Ambulance Service. Neither Mr. Webb nor Mr. Blalock were wearing their seatbelts. Mr. Shaffer was wearing a seatbelt. Graves County Fire/Rescue Squad and Mayfield-Graves County Ambulance Service assisted Kentucky State Police on the scene. The investigation is continuing with Trooper Thomas Clifton.
