Fatal Collision on KY 1241 in Melber, KY

Date of News Release: 08/01/2008

(Melber, KY) - Kentucky State Police are investigating a single vehicle collision which claimed the life of a Graves County woman. At approximately 1:30 PM, Kentucky State Police responded to a report of a vehicle which had collided with several trees on KY 1241 approximately 2 miles south of the McCracken and Graves County line. Upon preliminary investigation of the scene, it was discovered that 50 year old Patella Rives of Boaz was traveling north on KY 1241 when she drove off of the west side of the roadway. Rives' vehicle collided with several trees. Rives, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, was killed upon impact. Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Mayfield/Graves Co. EMS and Fire Department. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Dean Patterson with the Kentucky State Police.
