Injury Collision on Purchase Parkway in Hickman County

Date of News Release: 08/03/2008

(Mayfield, KY) - Christopher Vickers' vehicle was northbound on the Purchase Parkway driving in and out of the median and crossing both northbound lanes of traffic. The vehicle then collided into the center median where it began to catch on fire near the battery compartment. Mr. Vickers appeared to be incoherent and was slumped over the steering wheel. The passengers reported that the driver had been smoking marijuana and was trying to drive into an overpass. Marijuana was found in vehicle near the Mr. Vickers. Mr. Vickers was transported to Parkway Regional Medical Center in Fulton where he was admitted for observation. Mr. Vickers was cited to court for Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, DUI 1st, and Possession of Marijuana. Trooper Fields was assisted on the scene by Fulton Police Department, Fulton Fire Department and Fulton EMS.
