Injury Collision on KY 181 in Muhlenberg County

Date of News Release: 10/11/2008

(Madisonville, KY) - Ms. Malaythong Moore was operating a 2008 Ford Focus, northbound on KY 181. Ms. Moore was attempting to make a left turn in to the parking lot of Rust's Store. Mr. Frankie Mayes topped the hill southbound, in a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis, when he saw Ms. Moore in his path of travel. Mr. Mayes applied his brakes to try and avoid hitting Ms. Moore but was unable to do so. Mr. Mayes's vehicle struck Ms. Moore's vehicle in the passenger side. Subjects were transported to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital and the accident is still under investigation by Trooper Knight.
