Possession of Marijuana Arrest in Hopkins County

Date of News Release: 11/17/2008

(Madisonville, KY) - Mr. Derrick Maurer was operating a 2000 Toyota Corolla on the Western Kentucky Parkway, when he was pulled over by Trooper Stephen Oughton for speeding. During the traffic stop, Trooper Oughton determined that Mr. Maurer was under the influence of marijuana and placed him under arrest. A search of the vehicle revealed that Mr. Maurer was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Maurer was transported and lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
