5 Person Fatality on I-65 in Hart County

Date of News Release: 03/19/2008

(Bowling Green, KY) - The Kentucky State Police are currently investigating an accident at the 61 MM southbound I-65. 5 people are confirmed dead at this time. The accident involved a pickup truck, a van, and a tractor trailer and occurred during a period of heavy rain. 3 occupants of the pickup were killed, and 2 occupants of the van were killed. More information, including the names of those involved, will be forthcoming as the investigation progresses. Motorists are urged to avoid southbound I-65 at the 61 MM for the next few hours
