Fatal Collision on US 231 in Butler County

Date of News Release: 06/27/2008

(Bowling Green) - Dakota Tyree was traveling northbound on US 231. Vila Johnson was traveling southbound on US 231. Dakota Tyree's 2003 Ford F-150 entered a right hand curve and entered the southbound lane of travel. Dakota Tyree's vehicle struck Vila Johnson's 1999 Ford Contour in the southbound lane and left the west edge of the roadway. Dakota Tyree's vehicle traveled down the embankment and struck a tree. Vila Johnson's vehicle continued southbound and came to final rest in the grassy area on the west side of the roadway. Dakota Tyree was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Marty Jones. Vila Johnson was transferred and admitted to the Medical Center at Bowling Green and is listed in serious but stable condition. The passenger (Bretton Westmoreland) of Vila Johnson's vehicle was treated and released. The investigation is ongoing.
