News Release

Multiple Fatality Collision on KY 467 in Gallatin County

Date of News Release: 01/17/2008

(Campbellsburg, KY.) - On January 17th, 2008, at approximately 1630 hours, Gallatin County Dispatch contacted Kentucky State Police Post-5, Campbellsburg, in reference to a vehicle submerged in Eagle Creek, off of KY 467 located in rural Gallatin County, between Sparta and Glencoe. Gallatin County Sheriff's Office arrived and requested assistance from the Kentucky State Police. After removing the vehicle from the creek, it was determined that there were 5 bodies, 2 adults and 3 children, inside of the vehicle. The victims have not been positively identified, and no foul play is suspected at this time. The investigation is in its earliest stages, and we will release further when it becomes available. In addition to the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office and the Kentucky State Police, the Gallatin County Coroners Office, and Gallatin County Emergency Services assisted in this investigation.
