Shooting Investigation in Grant County
Date of News Release: 03/01/2008
(Dry Ridge, KY) - On March 1, 2008 at approximately 0046 hours, Troopers from Post 6 In Dry Ridge along with Officers from the Williamstown Police Department responded to Charlotte Heights in Williamstown. Officers responded to a report of shots being fired. On arrival officers found Robert L. Acree, 19, of Williamstown, KY with a single gunshot wound to the head. Mr. Acree was airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Hospital where he remains in critical condition. Preliminary investigation has indicated the shooting may have been accidental. The case remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Detective Fred Scroggins.
