Fatal Collision on KY 36 in Grant County
Date of News Release: 07/31/2008
(Dry Ridge, KY) - On July 30, 2008 at approximately 1638 hours, Kentucky State Police in Dry Ridge responded to a single vehicle accident near 11625 Jonesville Road. A 16-year-old male from Dry Ridge, KY was traveling westbound on KY 36 in a 1997 green Plymouth 4 door sedan. The juvenile failed to negotiate a curve to the right where he lost control of his vehicle causing him to leave the roadway. The vehicle struck a tree near the driver's side door. The juvenile was air lifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The juvenile passenger, 17-years of age from Warsaw, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grant County Coroner, Marylee Willoby. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Chad Mills.
