Assault 1st Investigation and Arrest in Johnson County

(Pikeville, KY)- On May 6, 2008 at 6:54 AM EST Pikeville Post 9 received a call from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office in regards to a stabbing in the Van Lear community of Johnson County.

Throughout the night Robert Dean Delong and Jeffrey A Hunter were involved in an ongoing verbal argument. The verbal argument escalated and Hunter went to Delong's residence. Hunter then attacked Delong and cut him twice with a knife. Delong, 35 years of age, was air lifted to St Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV where he underwent surgery. His condition has not been released. Hunter, 29 years of age, was charged with Assault 1^st degree and lodged in the Johnson County Detention Center. The incident remains under investigation by Detective Dwayne Price.

KSP Detective Dwayne Price is also investigating a theft at the Meades BP in the Auxier community of Floyd County. This theft may be related to the Assault but no charges have been filed at this time.
