Fatal Motorcycle Collision on US 23 in Pike County

Date of News Release: 06/08/2008

(Pikeville, KY)- A motorcycle being operated by Gregory Damron was traveling northbound on US 23 when a vehicle being driven by Lisa Cantrell pulled across the road into the motorcycle's path. Lisa Cantrell was transported to Pikeville Medical Center via ground ambulance. Gregory and Sheila Damron were transported to Holston Valley Hospital in Tennessee via air ambulance. Sheila Damron was pronounced dead at the hospital by Doctor Jason Dunn. Trooper Hampton was assisted at the scene by Dorton Volunteer Fire Department, Shelby Creek Rescue Squad and the Pike County Sheriffs Department.
