News Release

Death Investigation in Staffordsville, KY

Date of News Release: 07/16/2008

(Pikeville, KY) - Kentucky State Police in Pikeville was contacted by Johnson County Dispatch for assistance on a shooting at 50 Stafford Springs Road. Upon arrival of KSP units, medical personnel were removing Mr. Phelps from the scene. He was transported to Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center where he later died as a result of the shooting. Preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting was a result of domestic abuse. At this time the incident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed. The deceased has been sent to Frankfort for autopsy.
