Holiday Enforcement Weekend (Aug 15 thru Sept 1)

(Pikeville, KY) - Kentucky State Police troopers at Post 9 had a busy Labor Day holiday enforcement period. They made 44 arrests for driving under the influence, issued 18 seatbelt citations, made 80 felony arrests, apprehended 2 fugitives from justice, had 40 citations for suspended driver's license, wrote 149 citations for no insurance, 110 speeding citations, 9 reckless driving citations, and made 4 drug arrests. Other traffic violations listed as non-hazardous vehicle enforcement was total of 1216 violations which would include registration violations.

During this period, there were 4 traffic fatalities in the Post 9 district. There were also 3 Assault 1st cases worked by Post 9 detectives involving firearms.
