Kentuckystatepolice.org is provided as a service to the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and other interested parties. While we attempt to make this website as cross-browser compatible as possible, we cannot guarantee that all features will be available to all users and browser combinations.

Kentuckystatepolice.org is optimized for use with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or above.  Additionally, there are a number of tools/downloads available to allow better end user experience and utilization of this site.

• Adobe Reader -- View and print Adobe PDF files on all major computer platforms with this freely distributable software utility. The PDF format is commonly used for distributing large documents. Due to its ability to maintain the look of the original document, it is often used to maintain proper formatting of tax forms and copies of state laws, policies and procedures.
• Macromedia Flash MX Plug In -- The leading rich client for Internet content and applications across the broadest range of platforms.
• Microsoft Word 97 & 2000 Viewer -- Freeware program that allows users who do not own Microsoft Word to view and print documents that were created in Word. For use in Windows 95/98/2000, Windows NT 3.51/4.0 Instructions
• Microsoft Excel 97 & 2000 Viewer  -- Freeware program that allows users who do not own Microsoft Excel to view and print documents that were created in Excel. For use in Windows 95/98/2000, Windows NT 3.51/4.0 Instructions
• Microsoft PowerPoint 97 & 2000 Viewer -- Freeware program that allows users who do not own Microsoft PowerPoint to open and view presentations that were created in PowerPoint. For use in Windows 95/98/2000, Windows NT 3.51/4.0 Instructions
• PowerPoint Viewer for the Mac -- Freeware program that allows Mac users who do not own Microsoft PowerPoint to view and print document that were created in PowerPoint. (6.9 MB download)
• MidiSoft Internet Media Player -- Internet Media Player supports over 20 popular media formats including MP3, Windows Media, RealMedia, and CD Audio. (5.24 MB download)
• PKZIP Compression Utility -- PKZIP is a powerful utility that provides many functions for data compression, file archival, file management, and distribution.
• WinZip Compression Utility -- Another file compression utility. Site also contains information for newcomers on basics of file compression.
