Drivers Test Administrator

The Kentucky State Police Driver Test Administrator plays an important role in enhancing highway safety throughout the Commonwealth. They continuously make Kentucky highways safer by ensuring only the most qualified applicants obtain their license to operate a vehicle on Kentucky roadways.  Driver Test Administrators are tasked with administering written motor vehicle driver’s license examinations and road test examinations to citizens of the Commonwealth wishing to obtain their operators, motorcycle, moped, or commercial motor vehicle license, as well as providing basic information to the general public. They form a close relationship with the Transportation Cabinet, local Circuit Clerks, and area driving schools to ensure drivers have the knowledge they need and are prepared for the written and road test examinations.

Clothing allowance

After the successful completion of the 12 month probationary period candidates will receive a 5% pay increase.

Typical work schedule includes weekdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m, with weekends and state/federal holidays off.

Compensatory leave is available in lieu of paid overtime. Work is performed indoors and outdoors with prolonged periods of sitting and/or riding in vehicles with testing applicants.
