The Kentucky General Assembly passed House Bill 312, lowering the required age to apply for a Kentucky concealed carry permit, despite Gov. Beshear vetoing the bill. The bill became effective on July 15.
KSP contacted the vendor in early April, and the vendor began work on June 15. The online application portal is expected to be updated this fall and will then begin accepting concealed carry permit applications from eligible individuals ages 18 to 20. KSP will announce the official launch date once the upgrades are complete. Individuals interested in applying are encouraged to monitor the agency’s website and social media channels for updates.
