
Kentucky State Police Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting in Jefferson County
JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. (May 29, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been requested by the Jeffersontown Police Department (JPD) to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred on May 27, at 11:30 a.m. ET on Robsion Rd. in Jeffersontown, Ky.
The preliminary investigation indicates that JPD received multiple 911 calls from neighbors and individuals in the 9000 block of Robsion Rd., reporting that an individual, later identified as Mr. Marco Dorsey, was in the area making threatening statements and causing property damage to multiple vehicles and residences. It was also reported that Mr. Dorsey was involved in a verbal argument with a roommate, had reportedly consumed alcohol and had left his residence on Robsion Rd. An off-duty JPD officer became aware of the disturbance involving Mr. Dorsey and attempted to speak with him in the 9000 block of Robsion Rd. During the interaction, the JPD officer discharged his agency-issued firearm, striking Mr. Dorsey, who succumbed to his injuries. The JPD officer was uninjured, and no other injuries were reported.
