
Kentucky State Police Investigates Officer-Involved Shooting in Allen County
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. (June 6, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been requested by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred on June 6, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. CT on Shockley Road in Scottsville.
The preliminary investigation indicates that ACSO Deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Shockley Road. Upon their arrival, deputies encountered a white male armed with a firearm. One deputy discharged his agency-issued weapon, fatally striking the man who was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as Mr. Joshua R. Stanka, 42 years old, of Brownsville, Ky.
KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the commonwealth as requested by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
