Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Collision in Mead County

GUSTON, Ky. (August 21, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 4 and the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division responded to a two-vehicle collision in Meade County Thursday morning that resulted in a fatality.

On August 21, 2025, around 10:32 a.m. EDT, KSP Post 4 received a call from Meade Co. Dispatch to assist with the investigation of a fatal collision near the 14000 block of US 60 involving a semi-tractor trailer and passenger truck.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a tractor-trailer, operated by Marshall Morgan, 77, of Guston, was traveling eastbound on US60 when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line and struck a Ford F-150, operated by Glenda Ricketts, 74, of Shepherdsville.  A passenger in the pickup truck, Jerry Ricketts, 80, also of Shepherdsville, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Meade County Coroner’s Office. Both Glenda Ricketts and Morgan were transported to University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.  

KSP was assisted on scene by the Irvington Police Department, Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office, Meade County Sheriff’s Office, Breckinridge County EMS, Meade County EMS, Irvington Fire Dept, Ekron Fire Depot, Flaherty Fire Department, Fort Knox Fire Department and the Meade County Coroner’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing by reconstructionist Tpr. Tyler Lynch.
