FULTON, Ky.(August 17, 2017) – A jury in Fulton County issued a guilty verdict in the October 1, 2016 murder of Mark Williams.
The trial, which began August 14th, ended today with the jury handing down the guilty verdict and recommending a 20 year sentence.
William T. Jamison, age 60, of Tiptonville, Tennessee, will be formally sentenced by Judge Timothy Langford on September 8, 2017.
The investigation was headed by Kentucky State Police Detective Cory Hamby.
KSP Arrests Tennessee Man for Murder Following Altercation
Hickman, Ky.(October 2, 2016) On Saturday, October 1, 2016, the Kentucky State Police arrested and charged William Jamison, 59 of Tiptonville, TN, with Murder. The arrest stems from an investigation into an altercation between Jamison and Mark Williams, 49, of Hickman, KY. The investigation has shown that the two men were involved in an altercation at approximately 4:00 PM, in a field off of KY 94 in Hickman, KY, when Jamison shot and killed Williams. Williams was pronounced dead upon the arrival of emergency medical personnel. Jamison was lodged in Fulton County Detention Center, where he remains with a $1,000,000 bond. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on Williams Monday morning in Louisville, KY.
Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Fulton County Coroner’s Office, and Tri Cities EMS. The investigation is ongoing by Detective Cory Hamby with Kentucky State Police.
