Kentucky State Police Charge Hopkinsville Man for Theft

Hopkinsville, KY – (February 9, 2018) – Investigators with the Kentucky State Police Special Investigations section arrested a Hopkinsville man following a two-month investigation into the theft of funds from a Christian County non-profit agency.

In December of 2017, KSP received a complaint alleging that Steven “Stevie” Tucker had stolen several thousand dollars from the Christian County Juvenile Services Foundation Inc. The foundation is a non-profit which works closely with juveniles who are criminally charged with drug offenses. Tucker served as the president of the foundation. An investigation determined that Tucker stole in excess of $55,000 over a seven year period. On Friday, February 09, 2018, evidence was presented to a Christian County Grand Jury which returned an indictment for Theft by Unlawful taking over $10,000, a class C felony. Tucker, 49, of Hopkinsville, turned himself in to Troopers at the Christian County Jail at approximately 2:00 PM on Friday.

Steven Tucker previously served as a Deputy for the Christian County Sheriff’s Office. He resigned in early February from the department. Tucker’s role as the President of the Christian County Juvenile Services Foundation Inc. was not contractually connected to his role as a sheriff’s deputy. The investigation is ongoing by Det. Daniel Morck with the Kentucky State Police Special Investigations Section.
