Kentucky State Police Investigate Collision involving Stanford Police Cruiser

STANFORD, Ky. (April 2, 2026) – The Kentucky State Police, Post 7 in Richmond, was contacted just before 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026, of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of US-150 and US-27 in Lincoln County.

Troopers, along with medical personnel, responded to the scene. The preliminary investigation indicates that a marked Stanford Police Department patrol vehicle (2021 Dodge Durango), operated by Officer John Williams, was traveling east on US-150. As the officer proceeded through the intersection, a 2018 red Cadillac XT5, operated by Joan Hackley, was traveling west on US-150 and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto US-27, disregarding a traffic control device and striking the Dodge Durango.

As a result of the collision, Officer Williams and Mrs. Hackley were both transported to Fort Logan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Bailie Wilson. She was assisted at the scene by Post 7 personnel, the Stanford Police Department, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln County EMS, and the Stanford City Fire Department.
