UPDATE: KSP Arrest Harrison County School Teacher    

Detectives are continuing their investigation

Update: After concluding the investigation Detectives from Kentucky State Police presented their case to the Harrison County Grand Jury. On February 5, 2019 an Indictment Warrant was issued for Amanda Phillips on the following charges: 4 counts of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree, 8 counts of Rape 2nd Degree and 4 counts of Sodomy 2nd Degree. Mrs. Phillips was arrested on the warrant and transported to Bourbon County Regional Detention Center.

 

Cynthiana, KY (January 17, 2019) — On January 16, 2019, Kentucky State Police received a complaint of an inappropriate relationship between a teacher and a student. After investigating the complaint, Detective Joseph Filiatreau arrested, Amanda Phillips 37 years old from Cynthiana, for charges of Sexual Abuse 1st degree.

 

Amanda Phillips was currently employed by Harrison County School District as a Special Needs Teacher. The victim in the case was a prior student and was over the age of 12 years old at the time of the relationship.

 

Detectives are continuing their investigation and confirming that there were no other students involved in a relationship with the teacher.
