Drakesboro, KY (Muhlenberg County) – On Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at approximately 5:40 P.M., Trooper Curtis Crick conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Ford Taurus on Jacksontown Road in Drakesboro. As Trooper Crick approached the vehicle, he observed a passenger throw something from the passenger’s side window.
Through further investigation, Trooper Crick discovered the object to be drug paraphernalia. The passenger who threw the paraphernalia, identified as Scott Aders, 31, of Drakesboro, was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, and had an active bench warrant issued for his arrest.
Scott Aders was arrested and charged with Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess, Possession Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Mr. Aders was also served his bench warrant.
Another passenger in the vehicle was identified as James Gunn, 27, of Central City, after originally giving Trooper Crick false identifying information. Mr. Gunn had several bench warrants issued for his arrest. Mr. Gunn was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication- Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol) and Giving Officer False Identifying Information. Mr. Gunn was also served his bench warrants.
Scott Aders and James Gunn were both lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center. The operator of the vehicle, Sara English, 37, of Central City, was given a courtesy notice for traffic violations.
