KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Floyd County

 

Pikeville, Ky. (January 28, 2018) – At 5:P47 PM Post 09 Received a 911 call of a single vehicle collision on KY Route 680 in the McDowell community of Floyd County.

Upon arrival Troopers determined a Silver 2006 Chevrolet van left the roadway for unknown reasons, on the south bound lane striking a tree and rolled over several times coming to rest against a structure.

The operator Mary Risner was ejected from the vehicle, she was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Floyd County Coroners office.

Speed may be a contributing factor in the accident. Toxicology reports are pending in the case.

Units assisting at the scene were Trans-Star Ambulance, Left Beaver Fire/Rescue, and Allen Police Department.

The accident remains under the investigation of Trooper Derek Coleman.
