One Dead After Early Morning Nelson Co. Accident

Bloomfield, KY – Kentucky State Police Post 04 Troopers Worked a single vehicle fatal accident in Bloomfield this morning. On Monday, January 8, 2018 at approximately 6:00 A.M. EDST KSP Troopers received a call of an accident in the 4000 block of Ky. 1066. William D. Cook Jr. (37) of Bloomfield, Ky. was operating a 2011 Dodge 2500 Westbound on Ky. 1066. According to Investigators, the vehicle struck a patch of ice causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn and strike a tree. A juvenile male passenger was also in the vehicle and uninjured. William D. Cook Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene by the Nelson Co. Coroner’s Office. The accident is still under investigation by KSP Trooper/Reconstructionist Scott Rafferty.
