Kentucky State Police Post 1 Arrests Alabama Man Following Incident on I-24 in Livingston County
GRAND RIVERS, Ky. (May 22, 2026) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 troopers have arrested an Alabama man on a felony charge following a road rage incident on I-24 in Livingston County this evening.
At 7:03pm CT, KSP Post 1 received a call from a motorist traveling westbound on I-24 in Livingston County reporting that a passenger in another vehicle traveling the same direction had pointed a firearm at them through the window of the vehicle. The caller was able to describe the truck as a dark blue pickup truck with a motorcycle in the bed and provide the license plate number.
Troopers located the vehicle, identified as a blue 2001 Toyota Tundra, on US-62 in Calvert City. A traffic stop was conducted and a handgun was located in the truck. The passenger, identified as Dusty D. Sharp, 43 years old of Boaz, Alabama, admitted to waving the handgun out the passenger window after getting frustrated at another motorist.
Dusty Sharp was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and Menacing.
The investigation remains ongoing by Trooper Connor Dunigan.
