
KSP Works Injury Collision in Lyon County

Kuttawa, KY (June 16, 2019)- The Kentucky State Police responded to an injury collision at the 38 mile marker on I-24, eastbound, at approximately 05:29 A.M. Initial investigation reveals Samantha J. Hamilton, 21 of Murray, KY, was driving a 2018 Toyota Camry traveling eastbound in the left lane when a deer appeared from the median. The deer then entered the roadway causing unit 1 to strike the deer from the front of the vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle, Sara C. Johnson, 41, of Murray KY complained of pain to her left side and was transported to Caldwell County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both driver and passengers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
The investigation continues by Trooper Derral Redwine. KSP was assisted on scene by Lyon County EMS and Stinnetts Towing.
