UPDATE: KSP Investigating Deadly Shooting in Carlisle County
KSP Detective David Dick is continuing the shooting investigation.
Hickory, KY (August 12 2018)- An autopsy was performed today on Kelly D. Clanahan,, 52 of Barlow, KY. Preliminary results indicate she died of a gunshot wound. Harold D. Compton remains hospitalized and has been updated to stable but fair condition.
An altercation took place inside the residence of Matthew K. Turnbow, who fired a shotgun striking both Clanahan and Compton.

KSP Investigating Deadly Shooting in Carlisle County
Bardwell, KY (August 12 2018)- The Kentucky State Police was requested to investigate a shooting from the Carlisle County Dispatch at approximately 9:00 P.M on August 11, 2018. The shooting occurred approximately three and a half miles north of Bardwell inside a residence. Preliminary investigation shows Harold Doug Compton, 42 of Grand Rivers, KY was shot by the homeowner, Matthew K. Turnbow, 30 of Bardwell, KY. Mr. Compton was airlifted by Air Evac and transported to Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. He remains in critical but stable condition. Kelly D. Clanahan, 52 of Barlow, was shot and killed by Turnbow.
Turnbow was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and was served an arrest warrant for violation of a KY, EPO/DVO. Turnbow was lodged in the Ballard County Jail.
The shooting investigation continues by KSP Detective David Dick KSP was assisted on the scene by Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office, Carlisle County EMS, Carlisle County Coroner, and Bardwell Fire Department.
