Kentucky State Police Post 1 Investigates Inmate Death in McCracken County

PADUCAH, Ky. (August 4, 2026) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 detectives are conducting an investigation into the death of a McCracken County Jail inmate earlier this week.

On Sunday, August 2, 2026, KSP Post 1 was contacted by the McCracken County Jail advising that an inmate had experienced an apparent medical episode and was transported to a local hospital. At the hospital the inmate was pronounced deceased. KSP was requested by the jail to investigate the death of the inmate.

The initial investigation shows that the inmate, identified as Brandon Bowman, 35 years old of Paducah, was in the presence of medical staff when he had a sudden apparent medical episode. Mr. Bowman was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. No foul play is suspected.

An autopsy was conducted on Monday, August 3rd. During the autopsy, medical complications were discovered and no indication of foul play was found.
