Kentucky State Police Charges Trigg County Man with Rape and Sodomy of Juvenile Victim

CADIZ, Ky. (September 1, 2022) – On August 29, 2022, Kentucky State Police Post 1 was advised by the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office of a report of a sexual relationship between an adult male and a juvenile female. The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office requested Kentucky State Police investigate the allegations. 

The investigation revealed that Charles Sikes, 61 years old of Cadiz, Kentucky, engaged in a sexual relationship with a 16 year old female victim beginning in June 2022. The investigation led to five counts of Rape 3rd Degree and five counts of Sodomy 3rd Degree against Mr. Sikes. 

Mr. Sikes was charged with the sexual offenses by Kentucky State Police after already being lodged at the Calloway County Jail by Calloway County Sheriff’s Office on traffic offenses stemming from a pursuit the day that the sexual offense allegations were reported to law enforcement. 

The investigation was led by Trooper Clinkenbeard. Kentucky State Police was assisted by Trigg County Sheriff’s Office and Cadiz Police Department.
