MEDIA ADVISORY: Kentucky State Police Post 1 to Honor Fallen Trooper

WHAT: Kentucky State Police, Post 1 troopers will lay a wreath and conduct a memorial service for Trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder on the anniversary of his death.

WHEN: Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 9:54am CT

WHERE: The Flag Pole Marking the Memorial Site of Trooper Ponder located at approximately the 49 mile marker of Interstate 24 in Lyon County

WHO: Kentucky State Police and Family of Trooper Ponder. Anyone else who wishes to show their respect is welcome to attend.

WHY: To honor the sacrifice of Trooper Ponder and his service to the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
