Kentucky State Police Post 1 Arrests Caldwell County Man Following Death of Trigg County Infant

CADIZ, Ky. (Sept. 28, 2026) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 detectives have arrested a Caldwell County man following the death of an infant from Trigg County.

On Saturday, September 26^th, KSP Post 1 received a report of a one-month old infant who had been found unresponsive and was flown to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries early that morning. The infant succumbed to his injuries that same day.

Following an autopsy and extensive investigation, Givonte T. Riley, 22 years old of Princeton, Ky., the father of the infant, was arrested and charged with Murder. He was lodged at the Christian County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing by Detective Adam Jones.
